Fresh eggs anyone? A new market vendor has joined us this week with a table full of fresh eggs. Sherman Stone from Tay Creek says he'll be back next market with more. There's nothing better than a farm fresh scrambled eggs.
But if we're talking about dessert then we have to mention Rhona O'Hara's strawberry short cake made with local berries and homemade biscuits and sweet whipped cream.....or maybe Melissa Fraser's dark gluten free chocolate cupcakes along with her strawberry, chocolate or vanilla flavoured almond milk. Mmmmmmm!! Then, across the market court we are looking straight into the depths of a deep dark chocolate cream pie, but once you get past all the real whipped cream on top. What I'm trying to say here is that there is no shortage of deliciousness and tasty treats at our market. Tracy Hunter's 'Tangled Thai Salad' sold out in no time. Speaking of Tracy Hunter, she makes the best healthy fruit smoothies. What a great way to start off your morning. Then around the corner Diane Sullivan is set up with her Organo Gold coffee products. I tried her Cranberry green tea lemonade this time and its very refreshing. Stuart Douglass stumbled onto a game of Ladder Golf (otherwise known as Ladder ball or Ladder toss) about 15 years ago. It has resurfaced in the area and has become quite popular so Stuart created a Ladder Golf game from scratch. Now, this game that Stuart made is for the serious Ladder Golf gamer and is a great investment for outdoor activities during the summer and fall. It was a great day for the vendors with lots of folks dropping by. A few vendors were sold out before end of market. A BIG, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to one of our very own vendors, SHARON GORMAN who won our first $100.00 MARKET LOTTO'S of this market season. Fred Mesman drew number 62 which was Sharon's number. We won't mention why she chose that number!! wink wink!! We are all so happy for you Sharon. Next market we'll have a new Market Lotto board ready to go and maybe YOU will be the next lucky winner. The weekly raffle prize was one of Ene Vähi's prize geraniums. Thank you Ene. It was won by Judy Gallie. Jocelyn Weston won the 50/50 and had $8.00 in her pocket. Marion Grant went home with the free $5.00 market voucher. Congratulations to all our winners today. Thank you to everyone who helps out but specifically Cindy Somerville and Ethel Wall who helped sell raffle and 50/50 tickets at our TCA ticket table. Those 'Folks on Spokes' are a fit bunch of people who bike all the way out from Fredericton via Route 148 on Saturday mornings to attend our market. They are a group of seniors in bright yellow biking gear so if you see them on your travels, give them some space and a slight honk to say hello. Our next market is August 8th from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Right after market at 1:00 our annual TCA FUN DAY starts with games and fun for all ages. Bring the kids and the grandparents and join in the fun. A CHICKEN BBQ will take place at supper time and FIRE WORKS at 10:00 ish (whenever its dark enough). Last year awesome.
