Well the weather sure played a trick on us. What was to be a rainy morning, meaning we would have to set up inside, turned out to be an absolutely beautiful, sunny day. One person mentioned 'Oh well, if we were outside we'd have been eaten by the bugs". There's always a positive to every negative!!!
We had a full house with 14 vendors selling everything from bedding plants, baking, maple syrup, organic bug repellent, body butter, smoothies, knitting and crocheting. Organo Gold coffee, scrubbies, woodoworking, tole painting, cakes, pies, donuts, breads, baked beans, sewing, jams, jellies, pickles, Emergency kits and some yard sale items and more. We may be few but we certainly have a unique and good variety of items. In the kitchen Ruth Doiron served up plates of chicken-a-la-king with slices of apple pie for $5.00 and $2.00 - all proceeds to the TCA. We can always count on Ruth to pitch in and help whenever and wherever she can. Our fund raisers this year include the weekly raffle items - 3 ballots for $1.00 drawn at 12:30 and our NEW 50/50 draw which is 3 tickets for $1.00 and drawn at noon. This week's winners were Pat Allen from Durham Bridge who won the raffle item which was a $20.00 Pizza Shack gift certificate from Nashwaak G-Mart and donated by Barb Flinn. The 50/50 draw at noon was won by Barb Flinn. Whatever good things we build end up building us - Jim Rohn. Emma Layton won the $5.00 market voucher which she can spend at any upcomign market. Congratulations to all of our winners. The music today was provided by Dale Branscombe, Imelda Wilmot, Gordon Dougherty, Isaac Gilbert and Brad Sullivan. Thank you to each one of you for your musical talents and for sharing with us. Welcome back to Rita McCarthy with her beautiful stained glass. We are also happy to have the NVFD representatives Shianne Brewer and Justin Morehouse with us today and NVFD will be returning to future markets. And a huge thanks to all the vendors who work hard to be at market each week and especially to all the faithful customers who come each week to purchase our items. What a great crowd this week and we certainly appreciate each and everyone one of you for coming out to our little market. Our next markets are on July 11th and again on July 25th, August 8th and 22nd. On September 12th we start our weekly markets and go every week until December 12th. Hope to see you on July 11th.
