Okay, so who ordered the rain?? Although the weather was not quite what we had hoped for spirits were high at the market on Saturday! We were delighted to welcome Jonathan and Wendy Hunter from Durham and Robert Griffiths from Fredericton who provided some awesome music. They sang and played some wonderful songs and there was lots of toe tapping going on! There were even a couple of brave ladies dancing at the front! If you haven't already seen it check out the short video on our Facebook page. We want to send a huge thank you to the musicians and hope you will join us again! We also had another visitor on Saturday. T.J.Harvey, our MP for Tobique Mactaquac, took to the stage and said a few words. We would like to thank him for his support and taking time to visit us! Jim Campbell was back again this week with his delicious cakes and pies. Although I didn’t sample his lemon cheesecake I heard it was delicious. He also had some yummy Father's Day cakes available. What Dad wouldn’t love to receive one of those? Sharon Green from Green's Greenhouse had some stunning hanging baskets and plants. Just perfect for brightening up the garden! This weather also brings some unwelcome visitors but Connie was selling the highly effective Watkin's bug spray so there is no need for any nasty bites! This comes in formulations for adults and children! Amy had some wonderful hand painted trays on her table, just perfect for serving drinks on the deck! How about some of her homemade doughnuts? One of our newer vendors, Wendy, from Honest to Goodness Bath and Body was selling a wide array of soaps, lotions and potions and everything is completely natural! It smelt absolutely lovely at her table! Barb, who I think should be the market mascot as she always smiles so beautifully for the camera, had some tasty looking bread, cakes and preserves. June and Stuart Douglass had their usual table with a selection of beautiful wood turned products. If you have never tasted their home made maple syrup why not give it a try! You will never go back to store bought again! Suellen had a large selection of super-soft, colourful fleeces, perfect for those cooler summer evenings or even using as a picnic blanket! She had also made some really pretty citronella candles for keeping those pesky little bugs away! Sandra English from Nana's Pantry had some delicious looking treats. Doughnuts, cookies, squares, and much, much more! Perfect for picnics and afternoon tea! Rhona was selling some great throw pillows. Ideal for home or garden! Who hasn’t got one of those garden chairs that needs to be made a little more comfortable! Lee Isaacson was selling DVD's. What a great idea to have a few of these handy for a rainy afternoon, especially now the kids have finished school for the summer! Mia had some extra large bath bombs! All naturally coloured and perfumed with essential oils. No one wants a bath full of nasty chemicals! In addition to my usual jewelry line I have started selling my hand stamped items which can be personalized and made to order! Necklaces, keychains, etc. etc. Perfect for special occasions! Everyone loves that Swarovski sparkle! We cannot forget our wonderful ladies in the canteen who were once again busy making our signature breakfast sandwich! Absolutely delicious and only $3. Of course, the coffee to go with it is always free! Congratulations to our prize winners! Flora Hunter won the raffle which was a BBQ treat selection donated by Barb. Ethel Wall won the market dollars! Thank you to Utah Banks for her tireless efforts at every market with the raffle table! It is very much appreciated! Thank you to Kayla for all her hard work on Saturday! Kayla is one of our summer students and she worked hard to make sure everyone had tables and chairs and all the general 'behind the scenes' chores that people don’t always see! Thank you to all those who attended! Visitors and vendors, we couldn’t do it without you! Community is what makes this market a success! To all those who may be reading this who haven't yet visited, we would love to see you at our next market! The dates are on our Facebook page and website! One more, thank you, from me, for reading this blog! This is my first attempt ever at blogging and I was a little worried that I would not find much to say, now I am worried that I have said too much! Ha Ha I would love to read any comments or suggestions. Is there anything that I haven't mentioned that you would like to see? This is a community page, written for the community, so lets all contribute and make this page great!!
