We had kids from all over come to join us for eight days filled with fun activities, though a universal favorite was of course the traditional Tay Camp water balloon fight on the last day. We were also lucky enough to have Graham Nickerson with the Canadian Floorball Association join us on the last day to play floorball with us, an up-and-coming sport in the Taymouth area. For Tay Camp close, kids and parents joined us for certificates and cake last Thursday evening. Although this year's camp helpers are sad it's over, we can't wait for next year, when we get to do it all over again! Hope to see you all there! Below is the 2016 Tay Camp rap poem by Ruth Doiron, which is a spinoff of “Me Too” by Meghan Trainor, performed at the Tay Camp closing: Who are those teenagers standing over there? That’s right! Camp helpers and our camp leader! We had so much fun this year, should be in Camp Select! They’re GOLD! Show them some respect! I thank MOM every day! For bringing me to day camp TCA! And I can’t help lovin’ this place, And I won’t go nowhere else! Nuh uh! If I was you, I’d wanna be me, too, I’d wanna be me, too, I’d wanna be me, too. If I was you, I’d wanna be me, too, I’d wanna be me, too, I’d wanna be me… Too! Monster snot, eyeballs and dog food, Made cookies and they’re good dude! Balloon rockets, mentos, fizz, fizz, Booger balls, tie dye and music! Pets made out of rocks, best kind! Farm animals and things to find! Sports, relays, bow and arrow, Water balloons and we got wet, oh! I thank DAD every day! For bringing me to day camp TCA! And I can’t help lovin’ this place! And I won’t go nowhere else! If I was you, I’d wanna be me, too, I’d wanna be me, too, I’d wanna be me, too! If I was you, I’d wanna be me, too, I’d wanna be me, too, I’d wanna be me, too! Photos attached. He was up at 6 am on the last day to make it for us. His is the big sign that says "Thank you guys". The next one was by his sister, Emma, and says "Thank you, Caroline, Kathleen, Monica, Ruth, Macey, Luc, Isaac! I have had an amazing 4 weeks with all of the leaders at Day Camp. I want to stay for a million more weeks, but I don't think that it is possible! Oh well... I want to come here every year! I <3 TCA".
