The U10 Tigers have been busy playing some games and having a great time doing it, and I’m here to give you all the updates on how they’re doing! So lets get to it.
The tigers faced off against the Fredericton U10 girls, and ended the game with a win for Taymouth, 25 - 19. Spencer Clarkson led the offence with 2 home runs, a double and two singles! Paige Price and Tatum Pond each contributed 6 hits, and Nate St Pierre had 5. Wow! After that they went up against the Fredericton U10 boys. It was close, but Fredericton pulled ahead and won the game 14-9. Clarkson, Pond and Price each put in 3 hits for the tigers. Good job everyone! Last night, the U16 Tigers kept their momentum going, taking down Keswick with a score of 13 - 5!
Jackson Coggar, Ben Young and Jamie Estey pitched the team to victory. The tigers’ unstoppable offence rocked the opposing team, with Young, Jayden Dee, and Evan Clark all hitting home runs! Awesome game tigers, keep up the good work! The next local fastpitch game is this Wednesday, July 29th. The Men’s Tigers are taking on the Hoyt Schooners at 6:30. This weekend, our tigers did absolutely amazing job in provincial tournaments, with two Taymouth teams coming home the champions!
First, with the semis and championship game played in our local ballfield, the U16 Tigers took down everyone in their path, going undefeated and taking home the championship trophy! On the mound was Asa Pond and Dawson Morehouse. At the plate, Jackson Brewer and Jamie Estey hit a single and triple each. Jayden Dee hit two singles and a double, and Ben Young knocked a single and home run for the tigers! Amazing game, tigers! On top of the U16’s win, the Men’s Tigers also took home the champion title this weekend in the 2015 Men’s Fastpitch Provincials. Great job to you guys as well! So proud of all the tigers this weekend for doing so well in the provincials. Keep up the great work, you’re all the best! After hearing all this great news, I’m sure you’re all eager to see our magnificent Tigers in action! Well, don’t worry about that, because we’ve got a few local games this week that you can come and check out. Tonight, July 27th, at 6:30, the U16 Tigers are up against Keswick at 6:30. Hurry down and check out this game at the Taymouth diamond! Then on Wednesday, July 29th, the Men’s Tigers are up against the Schooners at 6:30. I can’t imagine why anyone would miss out on seeing the two provincial champs playing on their home turf, so come on out and cheer them on! Click here for ball schedules. Check each tab at the bottom for different teams. Yesterday, we had the first of many games this week, and no doubt the first of many wins as well! The U16 Tigers and the Fredericton Twins clashed on the Taymouth diamond in a close game of fastpitch. Taymouth stayed ahead, ending the game with a score of 12 - 10.
The winning pitchers for the tigers were Jackson Coggar and Asa Pond, while Jamie Estey, Evan Clark and Brandon Wallace were the big hitters of yesterday’s game. Great job tigers, keep it up! Here's the lineup for the rest of the week: Tonight, what could possibly be the biggest game of the decade will be played right here in Taymouth. With their debut local appearance, the U10 Co-ed Tigers will be taking on the U10 Boys Twins at 6:00. Come on out and support them! Then at 6:30 on Wednesday, July 22nd, the U18 Tigers up against the Twins on our home turf! And finally, the match between the U18 Tigers and the Men’s Tigers has been rescheduled to Thursday, July 23rd at 6:30! Drop by and support our two teams as they go head to head in their home town. After the previous day’s disappointing weather, the sun shined brightly over Taymouth -- the perfect conditions for a ballgame. And what a game it was! The U16 Tigers fought admirably, taking their first loss of the year against Minto with a score of 12-8.
At the plate, Ben Young hit a triple and a single. Brandon Wallace doubled twice and Jackson Coggar added two more hits to round out the tiger’s offence. Coggar, Evan Clarke and Asa Pond stood on the mound for us yesterday. It was a well played game by both sides, but Minto brought their all and went home the victors that night. Better luck next time, tigers! Next week we’ve got loads of fastpitch games in our hometown for all of you to come out and see. Monday, July 20th, the U16 Tigers are up against Fredericton A at 6:30. On Tuesday, July 21st, we’ve got a game that’ll knock your socks off. With their first game on the Taymouth diamond this summer, the U10 Co-ed Tigers will be taking on the U10 Boys Twins at 6:00. Then at 6:30 on Wednesday, July 22nd, the U18 Tigers are back at it again against the Twins on our home turf! Finally, since the weather was not cooperative, the match between the U18 Tigers and the Men’s Tigers has been rescheduled to Thursday, July 23rd! It’s at 6:30 right here in our home! This lineup of games is awesome! I promise that you’ll regret it if you don’t make it out to every single one. |
